As per the directions of UGC, this committee is dedicated to protecting the welfare and rights of students from SC/ST/OBC communities. This committee is dedicated to address the grievances and concerns of SC/ST/OBC students with the main objective of upliftment and boosting their morale. The committee primarily functions in the form of two sub-committees. Both the committees consist of a convener and other committee members who work to create a cordial and fraternal environment within the organization.

Work:

1. To ensure that eligible SC/ST/OBC students are not deprived of availing fee concessions and scholarship schemes.
2. Provide students with information about the portal and documents required to apply for scholarships.
3. This will help students to understand the scholarship eligibility criteria.
4. The committee will assist the SC/ST/OBC students to fill the scholarship application form correctly and completely.
5. The committee will create awareness about scholarships, grants and other financial assistance available to SC/ST/OBC students.
6. The committee will create awareness about the rights and protections guaranteed by the SC (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
7. It will educate students about their rights as well as help them report discrimination, harassment or harassment within the college or elsewhere.
8. Will cooperate in redressal of grievances raised by SC/ST/OBC students.
9. They will be helped in availing the benefits of various government sponsored scholarship schemes.
10. It will ensure that the concerns of SC/ST/OBC students are heard and addressed immediately.

The SC/ST/OBC Welfare Committee of Shaheed Udham Singh Government College Sunam plays an important role in supporting these students, advocating for their rights and ensuring equal access to educational opportunities.
