Online Admission Procedure


Important Points:
  • Warning:  The registraion of the students giving false/incomplete information in the online form will be rejected and such students will not be considered for admission.
  • (a) Candidates seeking admission to any under graduate course Sem-I must register themselves at the Punjabi University portal http://www.pupcollegeadmissions.org.

    Only those candidates will be considered for admission to Sem-I in any class of under graduate courses in Govt. Rajindra College who have registered at Punjabi Uni Patiala website "http://www.pupcollegeadmissions.org" and fill their Pbi Uni application ID in the admission form of this college.
  • Candidates must ensure that they qualify and are eligible for admission.
  • The guidelines are listed in the Prospectus/Admissions sub-menus available on website.
  • Before registering candidates or their parents/guardians must have a valid Mobile Number or a valid E-mail ID which will be used to confirm their identity by sending SMS or e-mail.
  • Candidates must retain their registered Mobile Number in active mode and/or e-mail ID until the admission process is over.
  • All the communication regarding admission will be through SMS/e-Mail, preferably SMS.
  • For correction of any mistake in the online filled form, where you can not edit yourself, you should report in Room No. 54 in the college prior to your interview date.
  • Uploading of your photograph with a size of less than 100KB in size and 140 X 180 pixel (width X height) is required. Other documents are not required for up-load.
  • Online-registration is free. No fee is being charged by the college for online registration.
  • Fee and funds will be charged from admitted students only.
Steps to fill Application form online for admission:
  1. Visit college web-site www.grcb.ac.in
  2. Click on APPLY ONLINE button.
  3. All fields marked with red pen mark are compulsory.
  4. Fill in all the basic required fields like name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, mobile number and/or e-mail id. and click Submit button
  5. On successful registration you will be given a Username and Password on-screen. Note it down. Please keep it safe and secret. It is required to continue further to complete the application form and for use in future too.
  6. On registration an SMS and/or E-Mail will be sent on registered Mobile No. / E-Mail ID containing your Applicant ID. and OTP (One Time Password). OTP is required to verify your Mobile No and/or E-Mail ID.
  7. Click on Verify on top left corner to verify Mobile No and/or Verify E-Mail ID and enter the OTP you received through SMS or e-mail
  8. Complete the application form by filling the required fields starting with the Personal Profile
  9. Complete personal profile, like category, annual family income, etc. and click Save button.
  10. Make a choice of reservation main category at 3A (and sub category on right side for armed forces/sports/handicapped at 3B) if you want admission against reserve seats and then save the information by clicking on Save Button. Skip this step in case you do not claim admission under any reservation category.
  11. Fill lower exam details starting with 12th exam results and then next higher classes one by one you have passed by clicking the Add Lower Exam Details button, Uni./Board name and Punjabi University Registration number (for old students only who are already registered with University), Last exam passed, Exam Roll number, marks obtained in exam passed etc.
  12. Similarly you will add the subjects and marks obtained in each subject of lower exams/classes passed one by one by clicking Add Subject details of Selected Exam button after selecting the class from the lower row. When you click on class row it it is highlighted to yellow colour, then only you can add the subjects/papers of that class one by one.
  13. Choose the class you are seeking admission to.
  14. You may apply online for additional class/classes by clicking on Add Class button with the same login ID and password. For the additional class/classes applied for online , the student will be charged Rs. 10/- per additional class he/she has applied online.
  15. You will choose the compulsory and elective subjects for admission by clicking Add Subjects of Selected Class button after selecting the row of the class of admission. (For BA-1 you must chose all the 14 subjects in order of your preference.

  • Click Add/Update button if you want to add any information and click Edit  button for any change if you have wrongly entered in the form. Change, if any, must be done before the last date to apply. You can not edit the information after the last date of online application for admission.

  1. Print a hard copy of this application after completing the online form for admission.
  • Note: Please visit the college website often for latest updates and for any kind of modifications/ notices/ important information.
    • The candidate may check status of its application in the merit/rank list on the following day of closing of date of applying for a particular class.
    • Know the tentative dates for interview/Certificate verification for admission to the class you have applied for, from the Last Dates to apply link on page and also check the counselling schedule from college website regularly.
    • If you qualify for admission (and your name is in the cut-off merit list) you will receive the SMS for interview/counselling to produce your relevant certificates for checking to admission committee in the college on the notified date and time.(The college will not be held responsible for delivery failure of SMS due to any technical reasons beyond our control. Hence candidates are advised to be regularly in touch with the admission committees and keep themselves upto date about the cut off percentage for admission to a class.)
  You should come for interview with the following documents which are relevant to you.
  • A hard copy print out of the online application for admission.
  • A passport size photograph (unattested).
  • The original certificates like DMC of the last examination(s) passed and a self signed photocopy of each.
  • Character Certificate from the Institute last attended  (This is not required if you passed the last examination from Govt. Rajindra College Bathinda).  
  • Reservation Category Certificate, if any, and its photocopy.(Backward Class certificate should not be older than three years as on date of interview.)
  • Residents of Punjab who belong to SC/ST category and whose annual family income is less than 2.5 Lakhs should bring the Income Certificate and a self declaration to avail fee concession.
  • For Proof of Residence, any one of the Passport/ Ration Card/ Unique ID(Adhaar Card)/ Voter Card/ Electricity or Telephone bill.
  • Rural Area Education Certificate in the given format duly signed by the headmaster/principal ( and counter signed by the Tehsildar or SDM at the time of interview (if you have passed your 10th/12th Standard Examination from a Rural School and studied in that rural school for at least 5 years.)
  • Migration Certificate for students who passed their lower examination from universities/boards other than Punjabi Universiy/Punjab School Education Board Mohali.
  • Eligibility certificate from Punjabi University if you have passed your lower examination from other states(except for Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pardesh).
    • If certificates are found in order by the admission committee, the candidate will be given a bank challan to deposit the admission fee.
    • The student is required to deposit the admission fee in any computerized core banking branch of State Bank of India near your house on the next working day.
    • Admission of those students who fail to deposit the admission fee in time will be cancelled and the seat so vacated will be offered to the next candidate in order of merit/rank list.
    • On verification of the fee deposited college will allot the college Roll Number to the admitted student, and an SMS will be sent to the student so admitted.
    • After depositing the admission fee in SBI bank, the student will come to  the college for his/her photograph for the preparation of his/her Identity Card.
    • Filling of online admission forms

        Important Points for admission seeking candidates (session 2018-19):
    • You should fill your own or family member's mobile number only.
    • You will be required to upload your photograph (Size140x180 pixel upto 100kb only) while applying online.
    • While filling the form online you should have your Adhar Card No.(Unique ID) ready with you and preferably a Bank a/c number in your name to get the scholarship amount transfer. It is must for the students belonging to Minority category/SC category with low income who need to apply for any kind of Scholarship.
    • Please note that:
      • Certificates for reservation should have been issued on or before the date of interview.
      • The Backward Class Certificate should not be older than three years.
      • The certificates for reserve categories should be signed by SDM except for the Sikh migrant families category, which should have been issued by Deputy Commissioner of the district.
      1. A student can apply online for admission without any fee.
      2. Rajindra College students will fill the results of all the previous semesters before the date of Interview after login with the already given username and password. The old students are not allowed to register again and should not create new UserName and password.
      3. New candidates seeking admission will have to fill up admission form online on the college website www.grcb.ac.in himself/herself by the prescribed date as notified on the website and required to print this application on paper.

    • The candidates will have to deposit their fee on the same day online only using debit card, credit card . This fee can also be paid through internet banking without any banking charges on college web portal by clicking the link given on main/home page.
